SITIMM's message at the start of 2020: after a 2019 of growth and recognition as an effective and modern union, SITIMM sets its priorities for the year — youth, working women, decent work, fair wage policy, social responsibility, partnerships with IMSS and INFONAVIT, the environment and the XXVI Sports Games.
2019 has been a year of major change, challenges and transformation for our Union Organization, but it has also meant **growth, evolution and improvement** in the way we practice unionism and in the benefits we deliver to our worker base.
SITIMM today has been recognized by national and international bodies as an **effective, modern, proactive and present Union**, supporting thousands of workers through real, genuine unionism.
It is important to acknowledge our past triumphs and achievements, without losing sight of the mission, vision and values that keep this Organization alive, always pursuing continuous improvement. **That is why 2020 represents an opportunity to refine our support mechanisms** for our members and to seek more and better benefits for them and their families.
We will sustain our policy of proactive, responsible and committed support for the **development of SITIMM youth**, through activities, courses and digital communication and engagement channels. We will continue to set the standard with **a safe, formative environment for SITIMM working women**, forcefully driving a policy of equality, non-violence and the eradication of workplace and sexual harassment in workplaces.
We will uphold our permanent stance in favor of **decent work** and a **fair wage policy** to incorporate a professional minimum wage. We will keep working with authorities, agencies and chambers to **eliminate the excessive taxation of overtime and holiday pay**. Likewise, we will keep pressing for **the PTU of companies to improve using the original taxable base**.
We will strengthen our **social responsibility** from the union sphere, incorporating **maintenance activities for public schools** where our children are shaping their future and development, while continuing the **tour of our Itinerant Labor Training Library (BFLI)** across our state and providing **support for job placement programs** in all our Training Centers.
We will redouble our efforts with the **IMSS representation**, seeking to subrogate services that urgently demand attention for our worker base and their families. In addition, to safeguard trust and peace of mind regarding our assets, we will remain **strategic allies with INFONAVIT**, bringing modules, workshops and benefits closer to our companies.
The **dissemination of our five core programs** will remain a priority, achieved through digital channels (social media, apps, websites, etc.) and conventional media (radio, newspapers, our SITIMMFORMA magazine, etc.), keeping our union organization at the forefront.
During 2020 **physical activation in our companies** will be a priority, with strategies for awareness, follow-up and engagement related to occupational health, workplace health, obesity and overweight.
**We will strengthen institutional agreements** with various educational entities, generating new strategies for outreach and use of the facilities of the Educational Access Centers **(CAE)** of the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato **(UVEG)**, as well as with the Industrial Work Training Centers **(CECATI)** and the Institute of Literacy and Basic Education for Adults **(INAEBA)**, so that no worker or family member is left without an opportunity to study and develop.
**Environmental care** will become especially important for SITIMM this year, so we will develop an environmental policy with various campaigns in favor of ecological care. **We will reduce paper and plastic use in our programs** and propose to our companies the recovery of spaces for reforestation and the **establishment of a joint commission on ecology and the environment**.
**Improving events and deliverables** is a priority: the opening of our XXVI Sports Games will remain a benchmark for worker sports in the country; we will keep **improving the conditions of sports venues, as well as transport logistics, information and awards**. The gifts SITIMM delivers to our worker base will reflect higher quality and better delivery, aimed at optimizing the benefits and rights of our worker base.
Finally, we will continue our **international activism**, offering our members options for training, education, work and knowledge of international standards.
It is through all these plans and strategies that SITIMM prepares so that, together — worker base, industry and union force — we keep building a better future and fighting for better working and personal conditions for all.
