SITIMM adopts the international agreement and commitment against abuse and violence toward women

**Violence severely affects the lives of women workers around the world, with sexual harassment its most frequent form. Violence against women is a violation of women's human rights. It is an obstacle to gender equality. Violence against women at work is a core union issue that affects women's rights, safety, health and dignity.**

**All forms of violence against women are unacceptable!**

Our Union commits to the following:

1. 1Take a public stand against all forms of violence and harassment toward women and condemn attitudes and actions that perpetuate sexism and violence.
2. 2Address the gender issue as a priority in our union and allocate the resources needed to generate activities aimed at preventing and fighting the violation of women's rights.
3. 3Foster a culture of respect for women in our union by raising awareness among our members, our staff and our representatives, and offering training on the importance of eradicating violence and harassment in the workplace and in our union.
4. 4Encourage our members to actively combat violence and harassment toward women, especially in the workplace.
5. 5Organize campaigns aimed at preventing and combating violence toward women.
