On Monday **March 8, 2021**, SITIMM commemorated **International Women's Day** with two important events: the first being its 5th Diploma Program "Toward the Development and Leadership of Working Women", held at its Labor Training Centers (CEFORMA) in **San José Iturbide, Celaya, Silao, Villagrán** and at the training room in **Irapuato**, with the participation of more than **one hundred working women from 60 companies** in the Region, observing the health measures issued by the health authority.
**Alejandro Rangel Segovia**, General Secretary of SITIMM, opened the Diploma Program and thanked all attendees for their presence. He noted that at SITIMM women's rights are upheld so that their voices are heard. He highlighted that SITIMM, since **2014**, has run these Diploma Programs, which have benefited nearly **one thousand women members**, who in turn have shared this knowledge with more women to achieve greater impact in their daily lives.
The keynote presentation was given by psychologist **Karina Álvarez Villegas**, a collaborator of IMUG, on the topic "Human rights for women", in which she emphasized that women have the right to education, health, a life free of violence, work, development, political participation, a healthy environment, and information, among others, without distinction or discrimination of any kind.
Afterwards, the collaboration agreement between the **Instituto de la Mujer Guanajuatense (IMUG)** and SITIMM was signed by their representatives, **Anabel Pulido López**, Director of IMUG, and **Alejandro Rangel Segovia**, General Secretary of SITIMM.
Anabel Pulido gave a brief overview of what **March 8** represents and invited all women and men to work as a team to build a world free of violence and based on equality.
Alejandro Rangel Segovia thanked the IMUG director for her remarks and highlighted that at SITIMM **43%** of the Worker Base is made up of women, which is why it is essential to prioritize the training of women workers, respect for their rights at family, social and work levels, and the building of these strategic alliances.
